What according to you can decide which school is the best and which school is not in UAE? Well, it is seemingly impossible to know the facts of each and every school as a parent. However, you do not have to worry anymore, in the guide below, we will tell you which school is the highest performing overall along with where it ranks and stands amongst the others. This in turn can help you take a meaningful step for your child.
In the latest report presented by Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), the ‘Outstanding’ schools in the region of Dubai have increased to 16 wherein it was just two in 2014. Moreover, 13 more schools have been rated as Very Good. It is an all new category, which has been introduced in the year 2015/16 reports by KHDA.
From the report presented by KHDA, we see that there has been only one school that has slipped down from ‘Outstanding’ to Very Good. For the rest of the schools, it has only been a move upwards.
The emirate’s educator regulator claims that 61% of students in Dubai i.e. 154,000 from a total of 253,000 students, now gain knowledge from schools that are known to offer good or even better quality of education in comparison to 30% in the year 2008-2009.
In the year 2015/16, KHDA ran an inspection in 149 schools. Out of these 149 schools (six added over 2014/15), the schools rated as Outstanding were 16, Very Good 13, 57 Good, schools that were acceptable were 56 and weak schools were 7. The good news is there were no schools in the category of Very Weak.
The Performance level of schools in Dubai are defined as below:
Outstanding - Quality of performance substantially exceeds the expectation of the UAE
Very Good - Quality of performance exceeds the expectation of the UAE
Good - Quality of performance meets the expectation of the UAE (This is the expected level for every school in the UAE)
Acceptable - Quality of performance meets the minimum level of quality required in the UAE (This is the minimum level for every school in the UAE)
Weak - Quality of performance is below the expectation of the UAE
Very Weak - Quality of performance is significantly below the expectation of the UAE
In the previous years KHDA has been struggling in order to outline the correlation between leadership that is good and education that has quality. In 2015/16, DSIB significantly found that good or better leadership was exercised at 64% of all schools which was an increase of 18 percentage points compared to 2008.
The schools that score an overall outstanding rating according to KHDA will definitely become the most considered by parents in Dubai. Here are the 16 outstanding performing private schools in Dubai to help you decide which one you would like your child to be admitted in.
