What's an Angle Valve and how does it function?

An angle valve is a type of plumbing valve used to control water inflow in a channel system. It gets its name from its shape, which is a 90- degree turn that allows the valve to be installed in tight spaces where other types of valves may not fit. The valve functions by opening and closing a gate within the valve body. The user turns a handle on the valve to control the flux of water, which either opens the gate to allow water to flow in or closes it to stop the inflow. In the utmost cases, the handle is attached to a stem that runs through the center of the valve and is connected to the gate. When the handle is turned, the stem rotates and moves the gate, opening or closing the inflow of water.

Why is an Angle Valve Needed?

  • Space-saving design: The 90- degree angle design of angle valves allows them to be installed in tight spaces where other types of valves may not fit, making them ideal for use in small bathrooms, kitchens, or closets.

  • Water control: Angle valves are used to control the inflow of water in a pipeline system, allowing users to turn the water off to a specific institution,  similar to a sink or restroom, for conservation or form purposes.

  • Compatibility: Angle valves are compatible with a variety of pipeline materials, including copper, brass, and plastic, and can be used with colorful types of plumbing institutions,  similar to toilets, sinks, and shower heads.

What Types of angle valves are there?

  • Brass angle valves are made of brass material, durable and erosion-resistant.

  • Stainless steel angle valves made of high-quality stainless steel, suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature operations.

  • Plastic angle valves made of plastic material, featherlight, and low-cost, suitable for low-pressure operations.

  • Copper angle valves are made of copper material, generally used in plumbing systems.

  • Ball angle valves are equipped with a ball-shaped valve that rotates to regulate the inflow of fluid.

  • Globe angle valves are designed with a globe-shaped valve that moves up and down to regulate the inflow of fluid.

  • Needle angle valves are equipped with a needle-shaped valve that moves up and down to regulate the inflow of fluid.

  • Check angle valves are used to help the reverse inflow of fluid in a pipeline system.

What material is the Angle Valve made of?

The best material for an angle valve is determined by the intended use and operating conditions. There are multitudinous generally used accouterments and their benefits.

  • Brass: A common material for angle valves due to its durability, corrosion resistance, and ease of machining.

  • Stainless Steel: Stainless steel angle valves are largely corrosion resistant and can repel high-pressure and high-temperature operations, making them ideal for use in harsh surroundings.

  • Plastic: Plastic angle valves are lightweight, low-cost, and ideal for low-pressure operations. They are generally used in home plumbing systems.

  • Copper: Copper angle valves are generally used in plumbing systems due to their high thermal and electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion.

What are the most important factors to consider when selecting an angle valve supplier or manufacturer?

When selecting an angle valve supplier or manufacturer, the following factors are some of the most important to consider

  • Quality: Ensure that the supplier or manufacturer has a character for producing high-quality angle valves that meet industry norms and conditions.

  • Availability: Confirm that the supplier or manufacturer can give you the quantity and types of angle valves you need in a timely manner.

  • Lead time: Determine the expected lead time for entering the angle valves, and make sure it's compatible with your design timeline.

  • Specialized support: Consider the position of technical support offered by the supplier or manufacturer, as well as their capability to give engineering and design assistance if necessary.

  • Warranty: Check the terms and conditions of the bond offered by the supplier or manufacturer, including the length of the bond period and the content.

  • Client service: Estimate the quality of client service offered by the supplier or manufacturer, including responsiveness, communication, and problem-working capabilities.
