Piling Contractors

Piling contractors are responsible for deciding the required piling layout. Pile contractors oversee large machines that hammer piles into the ground. Piles are long, heavy pieces of steel or wood that support building foundations, bridges, and piers. Piling contractors prepare design calculations and technical drawings for civil and geo-technical engineering projects. Piling contractors also determine the type and required diameter and length of the piles. Piling contractors also need to make proper provision for difficult ground conditions such as obstructions and groundwater flow, to check on site that the piles are being installed in a sound manner and that they comply with the requirements for test loading. Piling contractors are also responsible for any damage to surrounding structures caused by vibrations and ground heave when driving a group of piles.
