Cooling Towers

Cooling towers remove heat by transferring process waste heat to the atmosphere. Cooling towers may either use water evaporation to remove process heat or else rely solely on air to cool the working fluid. Cooling towers are used in oil refineries, petrochemical and other chemical plants, thermal power stations and HVAC systems for cooling buildings. Cooling towers vary in size from small roof-top units to large hyperboloid structures, used in nuclear power plants and chemical and industrial plants.
