Carpenters & Joiners

Carpenters are sometimes referred to as chippy. A joiner is a type of a carpenter who cuts and fits joints in wood without employing nails and screws or other metal fasteners. Joiners usually work in a workshop while most other kinds of carpenter work on site. A joiner produces items such as interior and exterior doors, windows, stairs, tables, bookshelves etc. Cabinets are often produced by joiners. Carpenters are used for stain-grade trim work, hang doors, drill and set door hardware, windows, layout for stairs and common rafters. Carpentry is used to construct the formwork into which concrete is poured during the building of structures such as roads and highway overpasses.
