You become what you believe. Rohit Sharma is a young entrepreneur who aspired to be an entrepreneur and became a successful one.

His company, Frontline Mechanical Equipment Maintenance LLC is an engineering services provider in Marine, Oil & Gas, Industrial and Construction industries

Your story from humble beginnings is awe-inspiring. How did you reach where you are today? What drove your success? Can you tell us your story?

I came to UAE in 2011 as a Trainee Engineer and joined a start-up company where I handled sales, operations, inspections of machines to their repairing and delivery. The exposure I received in the various areas of business operations for four years gave me the confidence to start my own business. I started Front Line Mechanical in 2016.

What were the obstacles in your path and how did you overcome those?

Lack of funds was a major obstacle. Marketing our new company and services in a highly competitive market wasn’t easy either. The payments not being received on time has always been a challenge and an obstacle.

We overcame the obstacles by focusing on delivering quality products and solutions to our clients with utmost commitment which built a loyal customer base for us.

What keeps you motivated? What advice would you give to your younger self?

I believe motivation comes from our lives’ objectives- what we want to achieve in our life and the path to achieve it. I always wanted to be a successful businessman and that is what keeps me motivated.

My advice for a younger self would be set a goal in your life and work for it.

What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?

I have the freedom to take my own decision and I am the direct beneficiary of my hard work.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Building a business on my own and seeing it run successfully is satisfying. This success is all the more humbling since I do not have a business background; no one in my family has tried their hands at business. There is still a long way to go to feel accomplished.
