A tent is used as a shelter and consists of sheets of fabric or other material draped over, attached to a frame of poles. Tents were first used by nomadic peoples as portable homes, but are now more often used for recreational camping and temporary shelters. Tents come in different colours and sizes. Tents are also used as overhead shelter for festivals, weddings, backyard parties, and major corporate events, for construction covers and industrial shelters. Tents were traditionally used by Bedouins, which literally translates in Arabic as nomad or wanderer, and is derived from the word badiyah, which means plain or desert.
