Wrought iron is an iron alloy with low carbon content. Wrought iron has fibrous inclusions. Wrought iron is tough, malleable, ductile and easily welded. Wrought iron is extensively used in furniture, such as the wrought iron gates in Westminster Abbey. Wrought iron is used in home decor such as wine racks, pot racks, bakers’ racks, table bases, desks, gates, beds, candle holders, curtain rods, bars and bar stools. Wrought iron is also used in fences, porches, railings, roof cresting and in hardware, hooks chains and railways couplings.
