Telecommunication consultants help in analysis of invoices, lines, rates, tariffs, taxes, plans, usage, call volume, systems, and contracts for optimization of telecommunication systems. Telecommunication consultants may be employed full time by large insurance, banking, or manufacturing companies, among others. They may also work for consulting firms, for the government, or as freelancers. Telecommunication consultants for large telecommunications firms also work in research or product and system development and design. Others work in sales and marketing. Telecommunication consultants must have at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer sciences.
