A tailor is a person who makes, repairs, or alters clothing professionally. Earlier, tailors were referred especially to men’s suits and clothing. A tailor makes suits, coats, trousers and dresses. Tailors cut and design dresses on the demands of their clients. Tailors may work out of their home, a studio, or retail shop, and may work part-time or full-time. Tailors make custom garments one at a time or to meet an individual customer's needs and preferences. Some tailors may often do embroidery by hand or machine.
