Turkish restaurants serve Turkish cuisine which is pretty varied, owing to the heritage of Ottoman cuisine, a fusion of Central Asian, Middle Eastern and Balkan cuisines. Turkish restaurants are famous for their Kebabs, mezes, baklava, Pide and Kadayif. Turkish restaurants use olive oil for cooking. Turkish restaurants vary, with the most common, Esnaf lokantas, restaurants for shopkeepers and tradesmen, serving traditional Turkish home cooking at affordable prices. Turkish restaurants prefer the use of nuts, especially pistachios, chestnuts, almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts together with spices, in desserts or eaten separately.
