Police is an organized civil force established to maintain order. Police prevents and detects crime and enforces laws. Police forces are often defined as being separate from military or other organizations involved in the defense of the state. Police force is also known as constabulary, law-enforcement agency or civil guards among various others. Police help investigate crimes, map out measures to reduce crime opportunities, help individuals in danger of physical harm and in general create and maintain a feeling of security in the community. Police also facilitate orderly movement of people and vehicles and collect intelligence reports relating to matters affecting public peace and crimes.
