Lighting poles are more commonly known as outdoor lighting which helps illumine streets and corners sufficiently, not only for aesthetic purposes but also to curb and control lawlessness. Lighting poles include street light, lamppost or street lamp and are constructed on the edge of a road or walkway to facilitate driving and walking. Lighting poles are lit at a certain time every night to avoid a large number of crashes and fatalities, especially those involving pedestrians. Also, lighting poles at intersections and highway interchanges cause fewer vehicular crashes. Lighting poles are also used by many towns to hang decorative or commemorative banners.
