A light fixture uses an electric lamp to create artificial light. A lighting fixture is an electrical device which has a fixture body and a light socket to hold the lamp and allow for its replacement. A lighting fixture can also have a switch to control light. Light fixtures may also have reflectors to direct light, an aperture, an outer shell for purposes of lamp alignment and protection, and power supply. Lighting fixtures come in a wide variety. Lighting fixtures are used in automotive lighting industry, aerospace, marine and medicine.
