The word library comes from the French librairie and Latin liber which means book. Libraries can be either privately owned or else government-owned, which are more extensive. Libraries help make available varied information to a community for reference or borrowing. Libraries provide physical or digital access to material. Libraries include books to manuscripts, newspapers, maps, prints, documents and cassettes and video tapes among scores of other information material.Libraries range in size from a few shelves of books to several million items.
