Commercial lawyers are also known as business lawyers. Commercial lawyers advise on businesses engaged in commerce, merchandising, trade, and sales. Commercial lawyers can be both private and public lawyers. Commercial lawyers deal with principal and agent; carriage by land and sea; merchant shipping; guarantee; marine, fire, life, and accident insurance; bills of exchange and partnership. Commercial lawyers also take into account corporate contracts, hiring practices and manufacture and sales of consumer goods. Corporate lawyers are involved in the study of shareholders, directors, employees and creditors.
