Glass - Stained & Leaded
Glass- stained refers to colored glass as a material or to works formed from it. Glass-stained has usually been used exclusively to windows of churches and other significant buildings. Glass stained is customarily made in flat panels and used as windows and lead lights. Artists also use glass-stained for three-dimensional structures and sculptures. Stained glass is glass that has been colored by adding metallic salts during its manufacture. Lead glass is a variety of glass in which, lead substitutes the calcium content of a typical potash glass. Lead glass is desirable owing to its decorative properties.
