Fiberglass is also known as glass-reinforced plastic. Fiberglass is lightweight, extremely strong, and tough. Fiberglass is less brittle, and less expensive. Fiberglass is used in aircrafts, such as gliders, in boats, automobiles, baths, hot tubs, water tanks, roofing, pipes, cladding, casts and surfboards. Fiberglass is also used for pipes for drinking water and sewers, office plant display containers and flat roof systems. Fiberglass is also used in the telecommunication industry, for protective equipment, such as helmets, goaltender masks and newer baseball catcher's masks.
