Dredging is an excavation activity carried out at least partly underwater to gather up bottom sediments and disposing them at a different location. Dredging is often used as a way to replenish sand on some public beaches. A dredger refers to any device, machine, or vessel used to excavate and remove material from the bottom of a body of water. Dredging is carried out to create a new harbor, berth or waterway. Dredging is done on work and excavation for bridges, piers or docks. Dredging is carried out to deepen or maintain navigable waterways or channels. Dredging is done to mine sand, clay or rock from seabed and using it to construct new land elsewhere.
