Computer Aided Design & Drafting
Computer-aided design, in its abbreviated form CAD, refers to the use of computer systems to create, amend, analyze and optimize a design. Computer-aided design increases productivity of the designer and also simultaneously improves the quality of design. Computer-aided design is used in many fields, including automotive, shipbuilding, and aerospace industries and industrial and architectural design among others. Computer-aided design is also widely used in movies for production of computer animation and also in advertising. In mechanical design, Computer-aided design is also known as computer-aided drafting (CAD) or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), a process of making a technical drawing with the use of computer software.
